Geogrids are a type of Geosynthetic sheets which are made of Polyester, Polyethylene or a compound of these or similar materials and they are produced in different thickness and dimensions in reticular sheets. Due to high tensile strength and significant locking with soil and asphalt, these sheets are suitable for reinforcements.

1. Asphalt reinforcement Geogrids
As the tensile strength of the asphalt is significantly lower than its strength in different temperatures, and this can cause major destructions, so, reinforcing the asphalt by Geogrids with their network structure, causes better tensile properties.

Features and advantages of asphalt reinforcement Geogrids:

2. Stabilized earth Geogrids
As the concrete is weak in tensile strength and for compensation steel is used, Geogrids can be used to grade the soil to tensile forces. Stabilized earth geogrids are divides into two groups of uniaxial and biaxial. Uniaxial grids are used to reinforce the soil in horizontal or oriental directions and biaxial grids do the reinforcement in both directions.

Features and advantages of the stabilized geogrids:
1 - Reinforcement of soft soil foundations and ground deformation control during sudden changes
2 - Three-dimensional texture of it increases the tensile and shear strength of the soil
      On the roads with constant axial loads, locking of the soil aggregate with geogrid increases the strength.
3 - In combination with a geotextile, it prevents the different aggregate soil to be mixed in road pavements and stabilizes the aggregation properties.
